Admiration

There are lots of people I admire,

Great people one and all,

But when it came time

To write this little poem

I found that I could not choose

Which one to write about.

 

I felt I would not do them justice,

Their deeds etched in history books;

I could not even begin to tell

Their stories in such a way

That I would be satisfied

My words lived up to their name.

 

So, may these lines inspire you

To not think about those I admire

But instead reflect upon the greats

That you hold in such esteem

As to elicit undying admiration

And a place forever in your heart.
